Responsibilities
- Identifying patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and their support systems.
- Fostering a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and their families.
- Promoting patient independence by: Establishing patient care goals, teaching patients, families, and friends about conditions, medications, and self-care skills, and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Maintaining quality of care by: Adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards, and making or recommending necessary adjustments.
- Ensuring a safe and clean working environment by: Complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, calling for assistance from healthcare support personnel as needed, protecting patients and employees by adhering to infection control policies, medication administration, storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations, assisting nurses with medication carts and on the unit, and overall supervision.
- Resolving patient problems and needs using multidisciplinary team strategies.
Requirements
- Required Qualifications: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN), Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
- Skills: Clinical skills, bedside manner, infection control, nursing expertise, and physiological knowledge, proficiency in administering medication and maintaining health promotion and maintenance, strong verbal communication and listening skills with the ability to work effectively in a medical team, multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
