About the role

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) plays a crucial role in supporting long-term care neighborhoods and leading the clinical team. This position is part of the Clinical Leadership team and contributes to strategic goals while also being hands-on in the daily care of residents.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Nursing and act on their behalf when needed
  • Serve as a Mentor and Coach, building and maintaining a resilient, dedicated care team
  • Ensure the highest quality of care through direct assessments, team development, and evidence-based practices
  • Champion a culture of continuous learning by providing ongoing education to nursing team members
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Be a visible leader—present on the floor and available to residents, families, and clinicians

Requirements

  • Basic Qualifications & Experience:
  • Registered Nurse in good standing in the state of operation, long-term care experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • 1 - 3 years experience as an RN
  • 1 - 3 years in a supervisory capacity
  • 1 year of experience in educating and/or training adult learners
  • Expertise in PPS, MDS, OBRA and OSHA requirements preferred
  • Must be knowledgeable of state and federal laws and regulations for skilled nursing facility operation in the State of operation.
  • Administrative experience preferred
  • Must be able to demonstrate competence in relevant technology
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills

Qualifications

  • Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
  • Sits, stands, bends and moves intermittently during working hours.
  • Interacts with residents, family members, visitors frequently.
