Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

About the role

The ADON reports to the Clinical Director of Nursing and is responsible for overall responsibility of care given to the patients by the nursing staff. This is a key leadership role, providing leadership, staff support and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure that standards of quality care are achieved on a consistent basis.

Responsibilities

• Oversee care provided by nursing staff
• Provide leadership and staff support
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Ensure consistent achievement of quality care standards

Qualifications

• New York State RN license
• Degree in Nursing or a related field; BSN a plus
• 3+ years of experience as an RN in a medical/surgical, rehab or long-term care environment
• Prior supervisory or management experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated leadership ability; ability to lead teams and empower staff
• Effective communication skills; cooperative and helpful demeanor
