Valley View Health and Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing and provide clinical leadership throughout the facility. The ADON plays an important role in maintaining high standards of nursing practice, regulatory compliance, resident safety, staff performance, and quality outcomes. Position Overview The Assistant Director of Nursing assists the Director of Nursing with the management and daily operations of the nursing department. Working closely with the Director of Nursing, nursing leadership, facility staff, residents, families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team, the ADON helps ensure that nursing services are delivered in accordance with professional standards, facility policies, and applicable federal and state regulations. The successful candidate will be a visible and supportive clinical leader who can organize nursing services, communicate effectively, identify opportunities for improvement, and help create an environment centered on accountability, teamwork, and exceptional resident care. Key Leadership Responsibilities Assist the Director of Nursing with the management and oversight of the nursing departmentSupport the implementation of facility policies, nursing procedures, and regional standardsAssist in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing nursing servicesMonitor nursing documentation completed by physicians and nursing personnel for accuracy, completeness, and complianceMake daily rounds throughout the facility to direct the work of employees and observe resident care, safety concerns, hazards, and operational issuesEnsure nursing services are delivered consistently with resident needs, care plans, and established standardsFollow up daily on each nursing unit to ensure changes in resident condition are reported, documented, and addressed appropriatelyAssist with Continuous Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiativesParticipate in corrective action planning and follow-up activities related to clinical, operational, or regulatory concernsComplete chart audits under the direction of the Director of Nursing and report findings, progress, and recommendations for improvementMonitor clinical documentation, resident status changes, physician orders, and nursing practicesEnsure proper infection prevention and control techniques are consistently followedPromote resident safety, dignity, comfort, and quality of careMaintain effective communication with residents, families, nursing staff, facility leadership, and other departmentsProvide guidance, support, and direction to licensed nurses, CNAs, and other nursing personnelAssist with staff education, orientation, coaching, performance monitoring, and developmentCollaborate with the Director of Nursing and interdisciplinary team to identify and address resident care needsHelp foster a professional nursing culture centered on teamwork, accountability, compassion, and continuous improvement Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing requiredMinimum of three years of nursing experience requiredAt least one year of supervisory or nursing leadership experience requiredExperience in long-term care or working with the geriatric population preferredKnowledge of nursing standards, clinical documentation, infection prevention, and regulatory requirementsStrong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skillsAbility to read reports, review documentation, and accurately utilize clinical and operational dataDemonstrated ability to organize and plan nursing programs and servicesAbility to manage, guide, and support nursing personnel effectivelyAbility to plan and direct nursing services while coordinating with other departmentsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong attention to detail and follow-throughCommitment to resident-centered care and quality improvement Our Benefits We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support you and your family, including: Competitive wagesElite Low Cost Gold Plan Blue Cross Blue Shield Health InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceLife Insurance401(k) with company matchPaid HolidaysPaid Vacation Leadership That Makes a Difference The Assistant Director of Nursing has a direct impact on the quality of care residents receive and the environment in which nursing professionals work.
