Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing Services to join our dynamic team. This position supports the Director of Nursing in maintaining quality care standards and coordinates plans for the total care of each resident.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Director of Nursing in maintaining quality care standards
• Coordinates plans for the total care of each resident which comply with physician’s orders, governmental regulations and facility resident care policies
• Communicates and interprets policies and procedures to nursing staff, and monitors staff practices and implementation
• Participates in all admissions decisions, and may visit prospective residents before admissions, as needed
• Participates in daily and weekly management team meetings to discuss resident status, census changes, personnel, or resident complaints or concerns
• Ensures delivery of compassionate quality care and nursing supervision as evidenced by adequate services and staff coverage, absence of odors, general cleanliness, prevention of pressure wounds, and apparent maintenance of optimal resident functions
• Demonstrates knowledge of and application of Key Clinical Quality Indicators and proactively monitors and implements systems to achieve and/or surpass company thresholds
• Assumes DON responsibilities during their absence
• Establishes and manages goals and objectives for the nursing department through analysis and strategic planning consistent with the company mission
• Facilitates collegial relationships among nurse managers and other healthcare professionals
• Provides 24-hour "on call" service for emergencies

Requirements

• RN licensed in Missouri
• 5 years of experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred
• Long-term care experience required
• At least 2 years in a nursing supervisory role
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Reliable transportation
