About the Role
The Assistant Director of Nursing assists the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Department. This role ensures the highest degree of quality care is maintained in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing the facility.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing department.
- Coordinate nursing services with other resident services to ensure continuity of the residents’ total regimen of care.
- Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, and charting.
- Ensure sufficient licensed practical and/or registered nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, medications, and safety equipment are available and properly utilized for each shift to maintain quality care.
Qualifications
- Nursing degree from an accredited college or university or graduation from an approved LPN program with a pharmacology course.
- Current, unencumbered Illinois license to practice as a RN or LPN.
- Two years of experience in a supervisory healthcare role preferred.
