About the role

We are seeking an ADON to oversee our Wichita, KS location. We are looking for a results‑oriented Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) with strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills to exercise administrative and functional supervision over nursing personnel as directed by the Administrator. The successful applicant will have strong leadership and supervisory skills and enjoy working with the elderly.

Responsibilities

• The Assistant Director of Nursing aids the DON in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Nursing department to ensure the highest degree of quality resident care in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
• Liaise with residents, families, support departments, etc. to adequately plan for resident needs.
• Teach and lead by example on all shifts.
• Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department.
• Develop and implement plans of correction and be knowledgeable in state reporting.
• Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures.
• Display integrity and professionalism in all activities.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license, maintained in good standing throughout employment.
• Supervisory experience in a long‑term care setting.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead a team of nursing staff and foster a team atmosphere.
• Knowledge of practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines governing long‑term care facility functions.
