Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) - $15,000 Hiring Incentive
Summary of Duties
Assist in the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the nursing service department, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
Make written and oral reports and recommendations to the Director of Nursing Services, as necessary/required concerning the operation of the nursing department.
Affiliate with the development, implementation and monitoring of the Infection Control Program to include policy development, surveillance, tracking, trending and reporting outbreaks and other communicable diseases to public health and other regulatory agencies as required.
Afford assistance with recruitment, selection, and placement of qualified personnel.
Afford assistance to nursing supervisory staff in completing and performing tasks as needed.
Afford assistance in developing competency criteria for the resident care service employees.
Afford assistance in developing, implementing, and maintaining an effective orientation program that orients the new employee to Nursing Services policies and procedures and to his/her job position and duties.
Afford assistance and evaluation of staff performance and effect changes as necessary.
Complete and assist with 90 day and annual performance evaluations in a timely manner.
Afford assistance in developing and maintaining a working schedule for the nursing department.
Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., as necessary.
Perform rounds with physicians and Advanced Practice Practitioners as necessary.
Schedule physician visits as necessary.
Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules to ensure that medications are being administered as ordered and that treatments are provided as scheduled with appropriate technique utilized.
Provide direct nursing care as necessary.
Perform other duties and assume additional responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the State of Alabama
- A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory role in a skilled nursing facility
