Assistant Director of Housekeeping
The Pfister Hotel, Milwaukee’s iconic luxury hotel since 1893 and a AAA Four Diamond recipient for over 50 consecutive years, is seeking an Assistant Director of Housekeeping to uphold its tradition of gracious service and impeccable standards.
About the role
Partner with the Director of Housekeeping to lead daily department operations, ensuring exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards throughout guest rooms and public spaces. Drive operational efficiency, quality, and guest satisfaction through problem-solving and process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Analyze operational challenges and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Assist in managing departmental budgets, inventory controls, labor expenses, and financial performance.
- Lead, coach, and support housekeeping associates to achieve departmental goals and service excellence.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and employee spaces to ensure compliance with brand and hotel standards.
- Oversee staffing needs, scheduling, and daily work assignments.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Previous management experience in housekeeping, preferably within a luxury hotel or upscale hospitality environment.
- High school diploma required; degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and retain high-performing teams.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of housekeeping operations, cleaning procedures, equipment, and chemical safety practices.
- Experience with Opera PMS or similar hotel management systems strongly preferred.
- Ability to maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment while delivering exceptional guest service.

Pay
Salary Range: $60,000 - $68,000 based on experience.
