General Purpose of Position
Assists in administering need-based and non-need-based federal, state, private, and institutional financial assistance programs and ensures compliance with all federal, state, and institutional policies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and work with Institutional Advancement, regarding the underwriting of Institutional Endowed scholarships and awards
- Monitor students regarding their satisfactory academic progress in federal aid programs
- Monitor students to ensure student recipients remain in good standing regarding their specific institutional scholarship fund
- Counsel, verify, package, and award both prospective and upper class students
- Serve as primary FA Counselor for those studying abroad
- Performs other duties as assigned
Skills Needed
- Experience working with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and the ability to work with mainframe database systems
- Experienced in providing customer service
- Proficient written and oral communications skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
Key Interfaces
- Interaction with continuing students, prospective students, faculty, and staff of the college
- Interaction with Federal and State officials
- Interaction with student loan agencies
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree required, master degree preferred
- At least three years experience in financial assistance and/or significant work experience
