About The Position

The salary range for this position is $75,000-$78,000 and is commensurate with experience and education. This is an exempt-level, benefited position. This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and is in person.

Responsibilities

  • Award and manage all School of Nursing scholarships following institutional, state, and federal requirements.
  • Work with School of Nursing faculty to manage Graduate Assistant hiring and payment.
  • Communicate financial aid information to prospective and current students through email, phone, and in-person and virtual presentations.
  • Write and maintain reports to meet compliance for grants and funding sources for recruitment, enrollment, student scholarships, and financial aid.
  • Advise students, faculty, and staff on financial aid and scholarship policies.
  • Collaborate with Development and Alumni office and school finance personnel to appropriately steward all awards.
  • Connect students with appropriate financial aid and finance related resources.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred; Associate's degree with financial aid/financial analyst background is required.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills are imperative.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policy in daily work is essential.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and projects, as well as the ability to work independently and with a diverse team of faculty and staff is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, and the ability to quickly learn new software is essential.
  • Two years of experience working in finance, financial aid or student services is required; experience gained while pursuing a degree will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preference will be given to applicants with specialized knowledge of federal, state, and university financial aid and award programs, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Experience collaborating with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Previous database management software use including PeopleSoft, Slate, Oracle.
