About the role

The Assistant Director of Financial Aid is a key member of the enrollment management team who helps students and families navigate the financial aid process while supporting the University’s commitment to student success. This role oversees financial aid advising, awarding, verification, packaging, compliance, and program administration.

Responsibilities

  • Guide students and families through financial aid opportunities, eligibility requirements, application processes, and funding options
  • Support the administration of federal, state, institutional, and scholarship aid programs while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and policies
  • Oversee financial aid processing activities, including awarding, verification, appeals review, satisfactory academic progress (SAP), and Return to Title IV calculations
  • Absorb reconciliation of federal and state funds, scholarship administration, and maintenance of financial aid data within the University information system
  • Partner with the Director of Financial Aid on compliance initiatives, policy implementation, audits, reporting, and issue resolution
  • Represent the Financial Aid Office through workshops, FAFSA events, recruitment activities, committee participation, and community outreach efforts
  • Maintain current knowledge of financial aid regulations and best practices through ongoing professional development and training

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of three years of financial aid experience in a higher education setting
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state financial aid programs, regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively assist students, parents, faculty, and staff
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail
  • Proficiency with computer systems, software applications, and student information systems
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Ability to remain composed and responsive in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Pay

Salary range: $50,000 - $60,000 annually

Schedule

Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
