About the role

The Assistant Director of Financial Aid supports the Law School's mission by assisting students, prospective students, and alumni with financial aid. They are responsible for awarding grants and loans, performing need analysis, processing federal loan applications, administering scholarships, conducting entrance/exit interviews, coordinating web content, and providing financial literacy education.

Responsibilities

  • Awards Fordham Law grants and loans and performs need analysis (FM and IM).
  • Processes federal loan applications using internal systems.
  • Administers named scholarships program, including data management, and assists with establishment of new scholarships.
  • Counsels students and families on financial aid options.
  • Conducts entrance/exit interviews.
  • Captures and maintains web content.
  • Assists with financial literacy education, office operations, and preparation/review of ad hoc documents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years of student financial services experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.

Qualifications

  • Preferred qualifications include knowledge of Banner, PowerFAIDS, and ACES2.
  • LSAC Unite proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace applications.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint (LawNet), including document management, content updates, and intranet administration.

Pay

The starting salary range for this position is $66,555 to $80,000, commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.

Schedule

The position is scheduled for 35 hours per week.

Management Responsibilities

The Assistant Director of Financial Aid is not responsible for supervising or overseeing others.

Additional Functions

Assists with the organization of the annual Scholarship Reception.
