About the role
At Alila Napa Valley, we blend luxury, sustainability, and a genuine sense of care. As the Assistant Director of Finance (ADOF), you will support the Finance department alongside the Director of Finance (DOF) to oversee the hotel's general ledger financials. This role ensures the Finance department operates efficiently in line with Hyatt Corporate standards while meeting guest and owner expectations.
Responsibilities
- Assist with supervising Finance staff, including coaching, counseling, interviewing, training, and evaluating performance to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures.
- Serve as the system administrator for programs related to accounting functions.
- Manage and oversee on-site accounting functions to ensure proper fiscal management, timely and accurate reporting, and presentation of monthly financial analysis for the hotel. Specific responsibilities include:
- Hotel financial planning and budgeting in Hyperion
- Accounting for multiple business units
- General ledger journals
- Account reconciliations
- Fixed assets management
- Cost controls
- Inventories
- Tax reporting
- Payroll functions
- Cash management
- Assist with completing the year-end audit process, including reviewing and approving reconciliations and audit work papers. Participate in and respond to auditor requests to ensure total hotel compliance.
- Assist with special reporting and analysis projects.
Qualifications
- 2 or more years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably in hospitality.
- Experience supervising accounting staff members.
- Prior experience with POS (Infrasys or Symphony), Oracle, Kronos/UKG Dimensions, Birchstreet, Opera, and other Hyatt systems is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
- High energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leadership, effective communication, and a focus on improving the bottom line.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Excellent organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods.
- Capability to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000 annually, based on experience in luxury resort and branded hotel finance roles. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on experience and education.
