Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end reports.
- Aid in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Analyze financial variances and collaborate with department leaders to provide explanations and recommendations.
- Support financial forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning initiatives.
Accounting Operations
- Oversee daily accounting functions to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Manage general ledger activity and maintain the integrity of financial records.
- Assist with monthly close processes, inventory controls, cash management, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support system administration and ensure effective utilization of financial systems.
Compliance & Controls
- Help oversee compliance with Hyatt policies, internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
- Maintain oversight of processes to ensure proper fiscal management and safeguard company assets.
- Support internal and external audits, including preparation of workpapers and responses to auditor requests.
- Ensure compliance with company, brand, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Leadership & Team Development
- Assist in leading, coaching, and developing Accounting team members.
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, and performance development of colleagues.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Support the Controller in creating an engaged, high-performing Finance team aligned with Hyatt's values.
Strategic Partnership
- Serve as a key business partner to operational leaders across the hotel.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies, strengthen controls, and enhance financial performance.
- Assist with special projects, reporting requests, and strategic financial analyses as assigned.
