About the role
The Department of Biology in the Getty College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio Northern University seeks a talented individual to ensure the functionality and safety of the teaching laboratories. This position involves preparing materials for teaching laboratories, including ordering and maintaining supplies and equipment. The Department of Biology also oversees the ONU Nature Areas: the 78-acre Metzger Nature Center (a residential field station) and the 350-acre Tidd-Oakes Farm (a conservation easement).
Responsibilities
- Prepare materials and equipment for laboratory courses.
- Order supplies, equipment, and resources needed for laboratory courses.
- Maintain laboratory rooms and storage facilities.
- Enforce safety policies and procedures.
- Hire, train, and supervise student workers.
- Collaborate with faculty to coordinate lecture and laboratory activities, design laboratory assignments, and edit lab manuals and syllabi.
- Attend department meetings.
- Provide assistance to the ONU Nature Areas as needed.
