Assistant Director of Athletic Communications

Duties And Responsibilities

• Aid in coverage of all IWU Athletic teams.
• Specific sport assignment of 11 teams.
• Coordinate and implement the department’s social media outreach plan.
• Create monthly student/coaches features to highlight the mission of IWU Athletics.
• Assist in recruitment, oversight, and development of 20-30 student staff.
• Manage and post athletic event components such as pregame, in-game, and post-game.
• Handle record book management and catalog all aspects of Athletics Communications using digital archiving procedures.
• Manage Catalyst student-led hype crew throughout the entire year.
• Handle other projects and duties as assigned by the supervisor or athletics administrative team.

Qualifications

• Strong Christian commitment and adherence to the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.
• Bachelor's degree in English, Communications/Journalism, Sports Management or similar field.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Proven ability to multitask.
• Good interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience as a writer, journalist, yearbook editor, or similar.
• Video filming and editing experience.
• Adobe Creative Suite software experience.
• Presto Stats software experience.
• Graphic design or video editing skills.
• Broadcasting and play-by-play experience.
• Commitment to the Lordship of Christ, personal growth through spiritual disciplines, and creating spiritually rich environments for others.
