Position Overview
The Assistant Director of Academics will play a key leadership role in supporting our educational mission. This role includes supervising and evaluating instructional staff, assisting with school operations, and collaborating with students, families, and teachers to ensure a high-quality educational experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and evaluate assigned teaching staff.
- Provide daily support to educational programs and ensure adherence to school policies and procedures.
- Implement instructional strategies to support diverse learners and improve instructional practices.
- Analyze student data to guide decisions that support students, families, and staff.
- Cookordinate and monitor Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and collaborative teams.
- Help transform school culture into a results-driven, collaborative learning environment.
- Oversee state and benchmark testing processes.
- Support the Child Find process and facilitate Student Intervention Team meetings.
- Ensure students receive appropriate accommodations and modifications per IEP and 504 plans.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and adjust student interventions.
- Address student behavioral issues and develop proactive strategies for at-risk students.
- Work with students, parents, and teachers on academic and behavioral concerns.
- Assist in policy development for student discipline in an online learning setting.
- Coordinate professional development and coaching for teachers.
- Help onboard and orient new staff members.
- Manage staff schedules and approve time-off requests.
- Supervise school activities, events, and special programs.
- Promote best practices in student engagement and retention in online learning.
- Ensure compliance with school safety initiatives.
- Perform administrative duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
What We’re Looking For
- 2–5 years of experience in educational administration or a similar role
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Leadership (or intent to complete) preferred
- Highly qualified and certified in a subject area
- Must hold an Arizona Principal or School Administration certification, or be actively working toward certification with completion expected by the end of the school year.
- Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Teaching or leadership experience in a K–12 environment preferred
- Strong experience in staff supervision, evaluation, and leadership
- Familiarity with online education platforms and technology
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to adapt to change and thrive in a dynamic environment
