Assistant Director (Hospitals) - Level III

Responsibilities
Performs complex activity in the performance, administration and supervision of diagnostic, habilitative and rehabilitative services to patients with speech and language impairments to assist them toward greater effectiveness in communication by addressing disorders of voice, language, or speech, and ameliorating emotional and psychological adjustment to such disorders.
- Provides assistance to departmental leadership in a wide range of activities in the management of a healthcare setting, including administration, professional and operational support services.
- Assists in the administration and management of specified activities and functions, including budget planning, cost studies, and fiscal reports.
- Collects and analyzes data for administrative and management decisions related to healthcare activities.
- Investigates and reports on patient and visitor complaints; performs special studies on operational units.
- Prepares informational data for healthcare training programs and participates in program development and updates.
- Plans, directs, coordinates, and reviews work of subordinate administrative personnel.
- Implements new programs and projects, monitoring their operation and effectiveness.
- Supervises and coordinates functional activities with other organizational units; maintains liaison with internal and external partners.
- Assists in the preparation of operating plans, policies, programs, and procedures; collaborates to resolve operational problems.
- Coordinates and plans training programs to establish performance standards; provides education and training to staff as needed.
- May represent departmental leadership on internal and external committees and relevant functions.
- Performs other related duties as directed.
Requirements
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in hospital administration, healthcare administration, public health, or a related discipline; or
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in the disciplines above and one (1) year of administrative experience; or
- An equivalent combination of training, college education, and experience in related fields.
