About the role

The Assistant Director for Visitor Services oversees campus partner engagement for weekday visits and large-scale admissions events, developing and sustaining relationships with campus partners and key community stakeholders. This role collaborates across campus and with external partners to advance departmental initiatives, support visitor reception, and contribute to assessment activities, particularly evaluating and strengthening partnerships. The Assistant Director plays a key role in developing visit strategies to support USC's enrollment goals, evaluating program logistics, and implementing processes for visitor reception, customer service, student staffing, visitor engagement, and space functionality.

The Assistant Director supervises the Manager of Visitor Services and provides backup coverage for the Welcome Center. This position requires periodic participation in on- and off-campus activities and events, with some evening and weekend work.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee campus partner engagement for weekday visits and large-scale admissions events.
  • Develop and sustain strong relationships with campus partners and key community stakeholders.
  • Collaborate across campus and with external partners to advance departmental initiatives.
  • Support visitor reception efforts and contribute to departmental assessment activities, focusing on evaluating and strengthening partnerships.
  • Contribute to the development of visit strategies to determine the success of USC's enrollment goals.
  • Evaluate visit program logistics and develop, implement, and assess processes related to visitor reception, customer service, student staffing, visitor engagement, and space functionality.
  • Supervise the Manager of Visitor Services and provide backup coverage for the Welcome Center.
  • Participate in various on- and off-campus activities and events.

Requirements

  • Experience in a higher education setting, especially in campus visit programming and/or enrollment management.
  • Expertise in managing multiple projects from concept through production and delivery, including using project management tools.
  • General knowledge of Technolutions Slate or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems (preferred).
  • Excellent organizational skills and mastery of logistics, with high attention to detail for managing multiple projects.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and negotiate effectively.
  • Ability to cultivate and manage key relationships with internal constituents, university partners, and external vendors.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple responsibilities concurrently.
  • Creative, responsible, and capable of working independently to handle considerable duties, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • Ability to work independently with little direct supervision, as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Some evening and weekend work required.
