About the role

The Assistant Director for Residence Life Assignments & Business Services oversees the housing assignment policy and processes, manages room changes, consolidations, and special groups. They also coordinate summer housing operations and support business services including billing, expense reporting, and budget management. Additionally, they are responsible for maintaining housing occupancy reports, coordinating check-in/check-out procedures, and supporting the college's IT needs.

Responsibilities

  • Implement a housing assignment policy aligned with the College's requirements.
  • Create and maintain a student-centered housing assignment process.
  • Cookier and maintain the housing assignment process, room changes, consolidations, and special groups.
  • Audit the housing operations system.
  • Assist with preparing and reviewing college room rates and related charges.
  • Maintain accurate records of housing occupancy reports.
  • Coordinate all check-in/check-out procedures such as Late Stays, Early Arrival, Break Housing, and Study Abroad.
  • Cookier Summer Housing Operations including Guest Stays, Groups Stays, Internship Host Program, and Summer Residents.
  • Ensure proper billing including room, board, and damage charges.
  • Process student payment transmittals in a timely manner.
  • Support with general department credit card expense reporting and ensure the office overall expense report is submitted.
  • Support with management of office budget.
  • Coordinate updates for all housing operations information on the residence life webpage.
  • Serve as a liaison and support for card access and student information systems.
  • Hire, train, supervise, and conduct performance evaluations on student staff.
  • Serve as a point of contact for students, providing guidance and directing them to appropriate resources.
  • Serve as a supervisor for main office student staff, monitoring office procedures and practices, and coordinating workflow and work assignments.
  • Assist in planning and executing program-related events such as workshops, training sessions, orientation sessions, and resource fairs.
  • Cookier Hall mid-year and end-of-the-year residence hall closing.
  • Support and enforce college campus policies and the student conduct process.
  • Report and assess Housing issues/concerns, develop the Department's Annual Budget, Annual Report, and maintain the housing operations systems manual.

Requirements

Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, a valid driver’s license, and a satisfactory driving record. Experience should include 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in operations, logistics, programming, and event planning. Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree in student personnel or a related field, 2+ years of residential live-in experience, and 3+ years of operations, logistics, programming, and event planning experience.

Qualifications

Pay

$52,993 - $59,267 annually.

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; some evening and weekend hours required for special events; travel up to 5% of work schedule, which includes local (Twin Cities metro area) and regional travel.
