Mount Mercy University is seeking an energetic and relationship-focused Assistant Director of Annual Giving to lead annual giving initiatives and cultivate philanthropic support for the University's mission and strategic priorities.
About the Role
This position serves as a lead fundraiser for donors contributing $1,000 or more and plays a key role in expanding the University's culture of philanthropy. The Assistant Director manages a portfolio of annual giving donors and prospects, develops and executes annual fundraising campaigns, and builds meaningful relationships that inspire donor engagement and long-term support.
Responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of annual giving donors and prospects.
- Developing and executing annual campaigns through direct mail, email, and digital channels.
- Coordinating Days of Giving, scholarship stewardship, and special fundraising initiatives.
- Tracking fundraising results and recommending strategic improvements.
- Planning the annual Athletic Golf Outing and securing sponsorships.
- Building relationships with alumni, donors, faculty, staff, and community partners.
Qualifications
- Three or more years of fundraising experience, preferably in higher education.
- Proven ability to cultivate donor relationships and secure philanthropic gifts.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
- Experience using donor databases and fundraising technology.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail and confidentiality.
