Assistant Director

About the role

At The Little Gym, our jobs are serious, Serious Fun! We're looking for someone with tons of energy who loves kids and wants to give back to the community. As Assistant Director, you'll reinforce our Core Values and Mission Statement, understand our philosophy and programs, and communicate accurately and professionally with the team and customers. Teaching is central to the role — you'll lead amazing gymnastics classes based on our proven curriculum (we'll teach you how). You'll also provide outstanding customer service, treating members like family with a personal touch.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce Core Values and Mission Statement; communicate philosophy and programs accurately
• Teach gymnastics classes using the proven curriculum and teaching method
• Provide outstanding customer service and membership experience
• Handle office tasks: answer phone calls, texts, emails, Instaply messages, voicemails, and walk‑in inquiries
• Public speaking: share knowledge of all programs and events offered
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by thoroughly cleaning equipment
• Work flexible shifts — mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends (not a 9‑to‑5 schedule)

Requirements

• Love having fun, giving high‑fives, and playing like a child
• Background in child development, physical education, and/or gymnastics is a plus
• Service‑oriented: making others feel good makes you feel good
• Great with kids and their parents
• Positive, upbeat attitude (the “most likely to be in a good mood” type)
• Balance of fun and focus — know when to buckle down and get work done

Schedule

30–35 hours per week. Friday and Saturday are off days. Shifts may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

About The Little Gym

The Little Gym is the world’s premier enrichment and physical development center for children ages 4 months through 12 years. Programs use movement‑based learning and imaginative play to build confidence and skills at each stage of childhood. For over 40 years, trained instructors have nurtured happy, confident kids through parent/child classes, gymnastics, dance, sports prep, camps, Parents’ Survival Nights, skill clinics, and Awesome Birthday Bash parties. All locations are independently owned and operated by a franchisee. This position is with Somersault Operating, which currently runs 30 The Little Gym locations across 8 states (SC, NC, VA, TN, PA, NJ, WA, CA), with multiple new locations scheduled to open in the coming years.

Pay

$19.00 – $21.00 per hour
