Career Summary
The University of Miami Division of Enrollment Management is seeking a full-time Assistant Director, Admissions to join our dynamic team in Coral Gables, FL. Reporting to a senior leader in Undergraduate Admission, this role involves significant travel during peak recruitment seasons and evening/weekend commitments.
Core Responsibilities
- Serve on the Application Review Team, managing the application review process.
- Manage support projects and audits during the summer months to prepare for the new application cycle.
- Represent the University at high schools, community colleges, college fairs, and other recruitment events.
- Engage with prospective students, families, school counselors, and other key influencers through presentations, information sessions, and one-on-one conversations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with school and community partners to support the University’s visibility and enrollment goals.
- Evaluate undergraduate applications for admission in accordance with institutional policies and enrollment objectives.
- Provide timely, accurate, and personalized counseling to prospective students, families, and counselors on admission policies, academic programs, student life, and financial considerations.
- Respond promptly to phone calls, emails, and other inquiries from prospective and admitted students.
- Utilize Slate (Technolutions CRM) to manage student records, communications, and data entry.
- Track and report recruitment activities and outcomes to support data-informed decision-making.
- Secure personally developed inquiries and leads from recruitment activities and campus events.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Admission team and University offices to achieve enrollment goals.
Core Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience; 1–3 years of professional experience in undergraduate admission or a related student services field (higher education experience preferred).
