Assistant Department Manager (Stone)

About the role

This position trains and develops Product Sales Specialists and ensures customers receive excellent customer service and product information.

Responsibilities

• Act and work in a manner consistent with company's core values
• Demonstrate safe lifting practices and understand company's retail philosophy
• Drive and teach the company's retail philosophy (People, Position, Product, Presentation, Price, Promotion, Purchasing)
• Direct and assist in processing merchandise to the showroom floor
• Communicate inventory needs to management
• Validate all product placement and pricing within the department
• Greet every customer in a helpful and courteous manner
• Assist customers with product questions and selections
• Process customers at check-out using the point of sale (POS) system
• Process customer refunds and exchanges according to established guidelines
• Present 'how-to' classes to customers
• Follow established cash, check, and charge card acceptance procedures
• Stock and tag merchandise displays as required
• Create price tags and merchandise signs

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 year of customer service/sales experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding and compliance with company's safe lifting practices standard operating procedures
• Proficiency in driving and teaching company's retail philosophy
• Completion of product specialist certification courses
• Thorough understanding of merchandise and installation
• Timely communication of standard operating procedure direction and changes to all associates
• Completion of Industrial Truck (forklift) proficiency testing and certification
• Communication of inventory needs to management
• Validation of all product placement and pricing within the department
• Stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as needed
• Standing, walking, reaching with arms and hands, climbing or balancing as needed

Pay

Pay Range: $21.63 - $31.96

Schedule

Store Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Pickup Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
