Assistant Department Manager Key Carrier (Deco)
About the role
This position trains and develops Product Sales Specialists and ensures customers receive exceptional customer service and product information. Additional responsibilities include supporting store operations, such as opening and closing, and performing managerial tasks.
Responsibilities
- Act and work in a manner consistent with company core values
- Open and/or close the store in an effective manner
- Complete managerial responsibilities like storage buy audits, markdown approvals, overrides, and cash office functions
- Ensure store presentation standards are met and maintained
- Perform opening safety walks and lift equipment inspections before store opening
- Lead morning huddles, execute Power Hours, and function as a CARE Manager
- Guarantee safety and security by following loss prevention and risk management guidelines
- Report Workers Compensation and General Liability claims
- Communicate standard operating procedures to all associates
- Complete Industrial Truck proficiency testing and certification
- Process merchandise to the showroom floor and validate product placement and pricing
- Greet customers, answer the phone, stock and tag merchandise displays, and process transactions
- Present 'how-to' classes to customers
- Follow cash, check, and charge card acceptance procedures
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year of customer service/sales experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to exercise independent discretion and judgment in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Thorough understanding and compliance with company policies and procedures
- Knowledge of merchandise and installation
- Strong organizational and attention to detail skills
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 60 pounds occasionally
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch

Store Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Pickup Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
