About the role
The Assistant Dean is a 12-month staff role supporting the Plaster School of Business and Dean of the College of Business, Communication, and Technology. This role facilitates the efficient operation of the PSB.
Responsibilities
- Tracking and execution of strategic initiatives and various operational projects.
- Cooking administrative functions across multiple academic and operational units in the PSB and across the institution.
- Managing projects, including data analysis, and reporting to support institutional goals.
- Aiding with ensuring PSB’s compliance with university policies and accreditation standards by creating and maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Managing responses to university-level requests for information (Crossroads, Board meeting highlights, etc.).
- Completing staff hiring, onboarding, and serving as the staff mentor.
- Supervising staff as assigned and facilitating collaboration among staff to enhance operational efficiency and faculty support.
- Managing student concerns and issues.
- In collaboration with content area faculty, managing adjunct faculty.
- Aiding with facilitating faculty and staff development efforts.
- Processing graduation applications.
- Aiding in the development and implementation of initiatives to improve student enrollment, engagement, and success.
- Facilitating the PSB student advisory board.
- Managing facilities requests/maintenance updates.
- Managing grant deadlines and reporting.
- Facilitating ADC/PLA requests.
- Cooking various meetings, including agenda preparation, document distribution, and follow-up actions.
- Representing the PSB at meetings, events, and committees as needed.
- Representing the PSB in the community as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree.
- Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in a university setting.
- Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines; strong interpersonal/collaboration skills; strong attention to detail, time management, project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; knowledge of general higher education operations; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Banner; valid driver's license.
- Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree; experience with AACSB accreditation; experience with grants.
