About the role
The Assistant Dean of Workforce Education & Training provides operational leadership for certificate and degree programs, ensuring high-quality instruction, effective program delivery, and alignment with industry needs. The position supports faculty, manages academic processes, and coordinates program operations in collaboration with the Associate Vice Chancellor for Workforce & Industry Engagement.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the development of the class schedule for the departments within the division as requested.
- Evaluating full-time and part-time faculty members as assigned.
- Reviewing departmental curricula and assisting in the development of course syllabi.
- Coordinating the departmental assessment activities within the division.
- Making sure departmental budgets are monitored and assisting in the development of budget and equipment requests.
- Conducting divisional faculty meetings regularly.
- Aiding the Vice Chancellor for Academic Services and appropriate search committees in the recruitment and selection of full-time and part-time faculty (including concurrent faculty).
- Coordinating the advisory committee meetings designated for departments within the division.
- Interacting with community and business leaders to form long-term working relationships.
- Aiding in the development of College policies.
- Aiding in the preparation of new degree/certificate programs.
- Coordinating the selection of textbooks by the faculty.
- Assisting with advising as needed.
- Scheduling and completing program reviews as assigned by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Services.
- Aiding in the review of articulation agreements with local high schools and MOUs with local and regional colleges and universities in a timely manner.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Services.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree, Five years full-time teaching experience, Three years of teaching at the college-level.
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree, Three plus years of teaching at the college level, Additional job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of the minimum qualifications upon approval of the Chancellor.
Salary Information
$60,000 to $70,000 Commensurate with education and experience
