About the role
The Assistant Dean for Finance and Operations serves as a senior strategic partner to the Dean of the College of Nursing and works closely with other members of the leadership team. This role is responsible for the administration, fiscal management, budgeting, IT, facilities management, and human resources management at the College.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the College's financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting.
- Manage the College's human resources functions, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Administer the College's facilities, ensuring compliance with safety and maintenance standards.
- Collaborate with IT departments to ensure effective technology solutions for the College.
- Work closely with the Dean and other leadership team members to develop and implement strategic initiatives.
Requirements
- Demonstrated skills in operations, human resources, facilities management, finance/accounting, procurement and post-award management, and/or related areas.
- Familiarity with academic/university systems and processes.
- Strong interpersonal and customer relations skills sufficient to inspire, lead, and work effectively with diverse groups.
- Excellent problem solving skills with proven ability to strategize, prioritize, and multi-task to meet goals and deadlines.
- Understanding and support of the teaching, research, practice, and service missions of the College of Nursing. Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least three years of overseeing or working closely with HR, Budget, IT, and academic and facilities stakeholders in a USC Academic Unit.
- Experience with USC's Responsibility Center Management (RCM) budget model.
