About the role

The Assistant Dean, BSN Program is responsible for overseeing the nursing program at Phoenix, Brookline College. Key responsibilities include site supervision, budget management, curriculum development, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops, manages, updates and evaluates all aspects of the BSN program
  • Prepares data and other written materials for state and Board requirements
  • Ensures all student and faculty records are maintained
  • Identifies and obtains outside resources for the nursing program
  • Develops and implements program policies and procedures
  • Serves on program committees and oversees the admission process
  • Writes articulation agreements with nearby colleges
  • Serves as liaison between the community and the college
  • Performs and/or delegates clinical site evaluations
  • Completes and forwards BRN clinical approval forms
  • Ensures evaluations by students, clinical sites, and faculty are provided
  • Maintains minutes of inter-agency meetings
  • Participates in nursing faculty recruitment, hiring, and orientation
  • Ensures faculty and student meetings are conducted and records are maintained
  • Participates in conflict resolution for faculty and students
  • Maintains community relationships and advocates for programs
  • Maintains quality of instruction and participates in faculty and program reviews
  • Maintains membership and participates in activities of professional associations
  • Provides advising support and degree planning assistance
  • Manages student appeals and grievances
  • Participates in the planning and review process for recruitment and admission
  • Assures all students complete necessary documentation and meet graduation and licensing requirements
  • Conducts Nursing Advisory Committee meetings

Requirements

  • Current RN license in the state where the campus is located
  • Master’s or higher degree in nursing, education, or administration
  • Minimum of two years of experience in an administrative position
  • Minimum of two years of teaching experience in pre- or post-licensure nursing programs
  • At least two years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Commitment to diversity as defined by state law
  • Effective collaboration, teamwork, and facilitation skills
  • Utilization of computer-based resources
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus
  • Experience in supervision, planning, and budget preparation

Qualifications

  • Must hold a current RN license in the state where the campus is located
  • Master’s or higher degree from an accredited college or university with course work in nursing, education, or administration
  • Minimum of two years of experience in an administrative position
  • Minimum of two years of teaching experience in pre- or post-licensure nursing programs
  • At least two years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
