Assistant Custodian

About the role

Performs housekeeping services, maintenance duties, and secures the building as required. Provides support for staff and community events.

Schedule

• Monday - Friday: 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. (includes two 15-minute paid breaks and one 30-minute unpaid meal break)
• Weekly working hours: 40

• Anticipated start date: September 10, 2026

Pay

$30.58 - $33.14 per hour (2026-27 PSE Salary Schedule)

• Insurance: Eligible for medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, basic life insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance provided the assignment is anticipated to work at least 630 hours per year.
• Retirement Plans: Eligible for a 403(b) TSA Retirement Savings Plan.
• Paid Holidays: Eligible for up to 13 paid holidays per year. The number of holidays depends on employee's start and end dates.
• Paid Time Off: Employees working 12 months per year earn 12 days of paid vacation per school year. Employees working 237 - 260 days per school year earn 12 days of sick leave. Up to 3 days of personal leave may be granted each school year. Vacation, sick leave, and personal leave are based on scheduled hours and position start date.
• Benefits are administered by the Washington State Healthcare Authority (HCA) under the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB). Eligibility is determined by the number of hours employees are anticipated to work during the school year (September 1 through August 31). Any employee scheduled to work 630 hours or more in a year is eligible for benefits.
