Assistant Critical Facilities Manager

Responsibilities

  • Aid in the management of day-to-day operation and maintenance of critical and non-critical data center infrastructure, equipment, and systems.
  • Build a team of technicians with the necessary skill sets to achieve 100% availability of data center operations.
  • Manage power and cooling capacity, and monitor environmental conditions within data halls.
  • Resolve electrical, mechanical, and fire protection system issues while minimizing risks and communicating with management and customers.
  • Assist in data center construction and commissioning, and oversee the transition from construction to sustainable operations.
  • Review preventive maintenance inspection results and provide guidance on addressing issues.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Oversee scheduling, coordination, and review of work handled by outside contractors and vendors.
  • Take on a leadership role in the absence of the manager, assisting with site tours, and managing work schedules and assignments.
  • Foster open, respectful, and professional communication within the team and with co-workers/teammates and leaders across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study, technical school with an emphasis on mission-critical operations or high-performance manufacturing, relevant military operations, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience in mission-critical environments.
  • 1+ year(s) of direct management of non-exempt shift-based employees.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Experience in creating and managing a critical infrastructure preventive maintenance program.
  • Experience establishing a new colocation data center or data hall (preferred).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for interacting with internal employees and leaders, and external contractors and customers.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills for understanding and evaluating complex problems.
  • Ability to operate effectively in high-pressure, mission-critical environments.
  • Ability to understand and train others on electrical and mechanical systems, as well as other technical aspects of critical systems management.
  • Ability to read and understand complex drawings, systems, and other documentation.

Location

On Site - Dalton, GA

Travel

Occasional travel between data centers may be required as needed.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, onsite position. Shifts may vary according to the site. Provide on-call support and respond to all data center emergencies 24/7, including on-site response outside of scheduled shifts.
