Assistant, Credentialing & Onboarding
About the Role
Reporting to the Specialist, Credentialing and CAQH, the Assistant, Credentialing and Onboarding will assist with the credentialing and re-credentialing, onboarding, staff transfer process, and maintain provider CAQH profiles. This role supports Signature Health Inc. credentialing, including initial appointment, reappointment, modification, certification expirations and renewals, as well as clinical privileging for Medical Staff, Health Professionals, and all other providers as needed. The Assistant ensures accountability, ownership, and reliability for a successful new hire and internal transfer experience.
Responsibilities
- Assists with sending credentials file for completion and ensuring file completion within specified time periods.
- Assists with preparing onboarding file for completion and ensuring file completion within specified time periods.
- Assists with pre-orientation communications to new hires, managers, and stakeholders; ensures completion of new hire onboarding documents; notifies IT to initiate provisioning process; partners with the Education & Training team for a smooth handoff for orientation on day one.
- Can assist with the new hire’s in-person onboarding appointment; processes and monitors results for state background check requirements (BCI/FBI); collects necessary paperwork; communicates next steps; provides additional support for the I-9 record retention process.
- Ensures all provider licenses, board certifications, DEAs, and other related certifications are updated every 120 days in accordance with all requirements.
- Ensures all providers' CAQH accounts are updated every 120 days in accordance with all requirements.
- Ensures CAQH provider accounts are created, maintained, and terminated when necessary.
- Monitors the initial, reappointment, and exportable process for all medical staff, professional staff, and delegated providers, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies (Joint Commission, NCQA, URAC, CMS, CARF, HRSA, federal and state), as well as Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, policies and procedures, and delegated contracts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum one (1) year of credentialing or onboarding experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with data systems or credentialing software required.
- Attention to detail and demonstrated organizational skills required.
Working Conditions
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office/clinical work environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings and extended hours may be required.
- Requires periods of sitting, standing, telephone, and computer work.
- Hearing: adequate to hear clients or patients in person, over the telephone, or through telehealth technology.
- Speaking: adequate to speak to clients or patients in person, over the telephone, or through telehealth technology.
- Vision: visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
- Physical effort required: occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 15 pounds, unassisted.
- Possible exposure to bloodborne pathogens while performing job duties.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements; standing, walking, squatting, and sitting; some lifting, pushing, and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular workday.
- Sufficient dexterity to operate a PC and other office equipment.
