Assistant County Attorney - Cortland County Attorney

Job Title

The work involves responsibility for representing the County in legal proceedings, litigation and various hearings. Work is performed in conjunction with and under the supervision of the County Attorney. The incumbent works with the County Attorney in all areas of legal representation for the County. Does related work as required.

• Work Hours: Full Time, 35 hours per week with benefits
• Salary: $102,700-$118,105/YR. (Management Compensation Plan)
• Location: Cortland County Attorney’s Office
• Status: Exempt

Qualifications

• Suggested minimum qualifications: Possession of a license to practice law in New York State.
• Special requirement: Must be a U.S. citizen in accordance with Public Officers Law.
• Residency requirement: Candidate must have been a legal resident of Cortland County or one of the seven contiguous counties.
