Assistant County Attorney
Job Description
The Assistant County Attorney performs professional legal work involving criminal prosecution, juvenile matters, civil representation of the County, and other duties as assigned by the County Attorney. This position offers significant courtroom and trial experience.
Qualifications
- Previous prosecution experience is preferred but not required.
- Preference may be given to applicants who have completed a prosecution internship, legal clinic, judicial clerkship, or law firm clerkship.
- Applicants must possess, or be eligible to obtain, a license to practice law in the State of Iowa.
- Candidates awaiting bar examination results may be considered, and non-courtroom duties may be assigned pending admission to the Iowa Bar.
Salary And Benefits
- Salary Range: $84,968.00- $90,646.40 annually, depending upon qualifications and experience.
- Starting salary above the stated range may be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates with substantial prosecution experience, subject to county compensation policies.

Residency and Location
Residency within Clinton County is not required. The office is located in the Quad Cities region and offers convenient access to a variety of communities, housing options, and amenities throughout eastern Iowa and western Illinois.
