Minimum Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school
  • Three (3) years of related experience including two (2) years of litigation or other trial-based experience preferred
  • Candidates must be admitted to practice law in South Carolina (member of South Carolina Bar)
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license for South Carolina with a safe driving record

Special Requirements

  • Departmental testing may be administered during interview
  • A criminal background check will be completed on selected applicant if a current one (less than 3 years old) is not on file

Physical Demands

  • Sit and use hands to handle objects and reach with hands and arms
  • Talk and hear
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds
  • Close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus required

Work Conditions

  • The work is regularly performed in a dynamic environment that requires sensitivity to change and responsiveness to changing goals, priorities and needs
  • Normal operating hours are Monday through Friday 9:00a.m. – 5:00p.m with the ability to work flexible hours when necessary
  • Must be able to attend evening County Council meetings and various social functions as requested
