Assistant Corporate Counsel, Supply Chain
About the role
The Assistant Corporate Counsel for Supply Chain role within Moog’s Corporate Group is seeking a legal professional with a strong background in supply chain, procurement, and commercial transactions. This role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements, managing legal risks, and providing actionable, business-focused legal advice.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of complex commercial agreements related to the indirect procurement operations.
- Identify, assess, and manage legal risks associated with contractual matters, supplier relationships, product liability, and supply chain disruptions.
- Assist in resolving contract-related claims, disputes, and other legal matters with vendors and suppliers.
- Work closely with other internal teams, including Finance, IT, indirect procurement, and business unit direct procurement teams, to provide actionable, business-focused legal advice.
- Help build and improve legal department processes and tools to increase efficiency and scalability.
- Stay current on emerging legal and regulatory trends and changes in law that may impact supply chain operations.
Requirements
- A Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- An active member in good standing with a state bar (preferably New York).
- Over five (5) years of legal experience, with significant experience in supply chain, procurement, and commercial transactions.
- Proven ability to draft, negotiate, and manage complex commercial agreements.
- Deep knowledge of contract law, commercial law (including the UCC), and international trade regulations.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, to include the ability to communicate effectively with both legal and non-legal audiences.
- Excellent business judgment with the ability to balance business goals with legal risks.
- Experience advising on intellectual property, cybersecurity, or data privacy issues as they relate to supply chain partners.
- Experience with specific industry regulations related to the aerospace, defense, and industrial industries.
- Experience with government contracting and related compliance (e.g., FAR/DFARS).
- Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) software.

Pay
Buffalo, NY: $145,000.00 - $170,000.00 Annually
