The Colaska team is committed to the well-being of our employees, through compensation, work-life balance, benefits, and career development. We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller in our Anchorage office who aspires to be a future financial leader.
Responsibilities
- Track & analyze cash position, assist in cash forecasting and reporting of net financial position
- Prepare, review and analyze financial information to ensure integrity is maintained
- Lead monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Responsible for preparations of journal entries, reconciliations and consolidated IFRS & GAAP financial reporting package to parent company
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff
- Assist with annual budgeting and monthly forecasting
- Prepare tax worksheets and support schedules
- Participate in external and internal audits as required
- Work closely with operational personnel to achieve company objectives in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, Colas internal policies and other regulatory requirements
- Maintain and develop internal control procedures
- Uphold Colas ethics and business principles
- Ad hoc projects and reporting as needed
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in accounting, finance or other applicable degree
- At least 7 years of accounting work experience
- Construction industry accounting experience including WIP reporting
- Strong knowledge of both GAAP and IFRS including revenue recognition and lease accounting standards
- Previous experience managing a small team
- CPA and/or CMA certification (ideal)
- Excellent time management and organization skills with the ability to prioritize and follow-up on multiple concurrent tasks
- Excellent skills with Microsoft Windows and MS Office Suite, particularly Outlook and Excel (intermediate level)
- Experience with JDE, Sage, Timberline, or other enterprise construction industry software (a plus)
- Highly motivated, positive, professional, organized, detail oriented, and an effective communicator

Pay
Compensation range of $120,000–$140,000 annually, plus discretionary annual bonus.
