Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Aid in daily food preparation and serving in compliance with Health Department standards.
- Lead in the absence of the Food Program Manager.
- Maintain a sanitary environment in all kitchen, dining room, storage, and refrigeration areas.
- Adhere to proper food storage procedures as per Health Department guidelines.
- Report maintenance issues to the Maintenance Director.
- Keep up with necessary reporting and statistics.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manage volunteers.
Education and/or Experience
- One to three months of experience in the related field is encouraged.
Qualifications
- Ability to work flexibly and manage multiple tasks.
- Basic computer skills for accessing payroll, timekeeping, and personal data.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong independent judgment.
Other Qualifications
- Pass all applicable background checks.
- Complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire.
- Obtain Serve Safe Manager Certification, CPR, and AED.
Physical Requirements
- Good speaking, hearing, and vision abilities.
- Excellent manual dexterity.
- Standing, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
- Lifting and moving more than 50 pounds occasionally.
Working Conditions
- Kitchen environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Agreement to support The Salvation Army's religious mission.
