Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Aid in daily food preparation and serving in compliance with health department standards.
- Lead in the absence of the chef, maintaining a sanitary environment across the kitchen, dining room, storage rooms, and refrigeration units.
- Maintain proper food storage according to health department guidelines, including handling leftovers.
- Prepare required statistical and financial reports related to donations.
- Report necessary maintenance issues to the lead chef and corps officers.
- Keep accurate records of volunteer hours, meal statistics, and other forms needed for the program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working in a commercial kitchen for at least three months.
- Ability to work flexibly and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic computer skills for accessing payroll, timekeeping, and personal data.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Strong independent judgment.
Physical Requirements
- Good speaking, hearing, and vision ability.
- Excellent manual dexterity.
- Standing, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
- The ability to lift and/or move more than 50 pounds occasionally.
Working Conditions
- Kitchen environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
