Assistant Controller

About the Role

We are seeking an Assistant Controller with audit experience to join our established accounting team in our Kansas City office. The Assistant Controller is involved in all facets of the accounting department and reports directly to the Controller, acting as a consultant to each Regional Manager of the construction companies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements and reconcile job cost for the various companies
• Monitor accounting transactions throughout the month and resolve any issues that occur in the process on a daily basis
• Partner on insurance and interact with construction company Project Managers to assist them with subcontracts and insurance issues
• Work on a variety of different projects throughout the month that are delegated from the Controller
• Respond to requests for information and analysis from Regional Managers on various accounting and financial issues

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Accounting
• 3-5 years of public or construction related accounting experience
• CPA and/or Master's degree required
• Ability to establish good working relationships with Senior Management
