About the Role

The Annex Group is seeking an Assistant Community Manager to support our mission of creating a positive impact within our communities. This role focuses on delivering excellent customer experiences, maintaining compliance with housing laws, and supporting key property management functions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent experiences for residents, vendors, community partners, investors, and owners.
  • Execute resident services that positively impact lives and maintain high property appearance standards.
  • Achieve above-average resident survey results and assist in managing the property to meet key performance indicators, including budgeted occupancy and financial targets.
  • Adhere to company policies, standard operating procedures, and LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) program requirements, including household qualifications, annual recertifications, and reporting.
  • Assist the Community Manager with accurate documentation of internal and external reporting.
  • Support daily accounting functions, including financial management, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Property management or affordable housing experience preferred but not required.
  • 1-2 years of previous management experience preferred.
  • Authentic care for others and a strong desire to create positive change in residents’ lives.
  • Strong work ethic with a demonstrated desire to learn and grow.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient communication and listening skills.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting and budgeting.
  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license.

Skills

  • Working knowledge of social media and MS Office software programs.
  • Willingness to use job-related technology tools effectively.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent walking, standing, and sitting within the work area.
  • Driving to and from locations for business-related purposes.
  • Frequent walking throughout the community.

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced office environment with varying noise levels.
  • Requires working independently and as part of a team.
  • Daily verbal and face-to-face contact with others.
  • Frequent computer use and operation of general office equipment.
  • Handling confidential client information appropriately.

Supplemental Pay

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must attend annual fair housing training, state agency compliance training, and other required company training.
