About the role

The Assistant Coach is responsible to assist in the coordination of all aspects of the women’s lacrosse program including coaching, training, recruitment and retention of student athletes. This position assumes responsibility for student athletes, as assigned by the Head Coach, assists with team schedule and coordination thereof, and leads practices and training sessions. Primary responsibility and time commitment occurs in season. However, the Assistant Coach may assist with recruiting and other activities off-season as available and at the discretion of the Head Coach.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the coordination of all aspects of the women’s lacrosse program including coaching, training, recruitment and retention of student athletes.
  • Assists with team schedule and coordination thereof.
  • Leads practices and training sessions.
  • Assists with recruiting and other activities off-season as available and at the discretion of the Head Coach.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in physical education, recreation, health, or related field strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year coaching experience as an assistant coach or high school head coach required or equivalent combination of coaching and playing experience.
  • Knowledge of NCAA Division III and AMCC rules and regulations strongly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills also required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, students, and recruits a must.
  • Ability to motivate and lead student athletes individually and in a team setting also required.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member is highly valued.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and some holidays.
  • Travel and occasional overnight stays expected for games and recruiting.

Qualifications

Benefits

As a DIII Institution, Mount Aloysius emphasizes the importance of academics and expects coaching staff to monitor student athletes’ academic progress. The Assistant Coach is responsible to comply with NCAA Division III and AMCC rules and regulations; and is subject to NCAA enforcement provisions for violations.

Pay

This part-time position is not eligible for remote work or benefits.

Schedule

This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time; all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of their application.
