About the role
The Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) is the historic heart of Harvard University, home to Harvard College and all of Harvard's Ph.D. programs. The FAS supports a community of academic excellence across a wide range of liberal arts and sciences disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Athlete Team Management: Develops student-athlete skills, plans and executes practices, manages game performance, coordinates team programming, analyzes video for scouting, recruits and retains talent, and supports academic integration.
- Operational Complexity: Executes strategy, logistics, and operational direction of the team, operates within budget, participates in professional activities, and follows trends and innovation opportunities.
- Additional Coaching Duties: Instructs and develops student-athletes, makes strategic decisions in contest situations, oversees strength and conditioning, develops and implements recruiting strategy, handles administrative responsibilities, and assists in donor relations and fundraising.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
- At least 1 year of lacrosse coaching at the collegiate, professional, or National team level and/or 4 years of collegiate lacrosse playing experience.
- Offensive coaching experience preferred.
- Substantial sport-specific knowledge and understanding of relevant issues.
- Knowledge of college athletics' philosophy, principles, and policies.
Skills
- Effective communication with students and coaching staff.
- Ability to analyze video for scouting opponents and team development.
- Experience in managing team operations and budgets.
- Understanding of NCAA rules and regulations.
