Assistant Coach, Varsity Girls Golf

About the role

The Assistant Coach for Varsity Girls Golf supports the head coach in all aspects of the program, including instruction, practice, match-day management, and the spiritual and personal development of our student-athletes.

Responsibilities

• Aid the head coach in planning and running practices, including skills instruction (full swing, short game, putting, course management) and conditioning
• Provide individual coaching and encouragement to players of varying skill levels
• Support team supervision and logistics at practices, matches, and tournaments
• Foster a team culture grounded in Christian character, sportsmanship, and integrity
• Communicate appropriately with players, parents, and school staff under the head coach's direction
• Assist with equipment, scheduling, transportation coordination, and other game-day duties as needed
• Uphold all HCA, league, and state athletic association rules and standards

Requirements

• Knowledge of the game of golf and the ability to teach fundamentals; playing or coaching experience preferred
• A personal faith in Jesus Christ and agreement with HCA's mission and statement of faith
• Strong character, reliability, and the ability to model Christ-like leadership for student-athletes
• Effective communication and the ability to work collaboratively with the head coach and athletic staff
• Must pass a background check and complete any required coaching certifications (e.g., concentration/concussion training, league requirements)
• Prior experience coaching or mentoring youth preferred
