Coach - Assistant Girls Golf
FLSA Status: Exempt | Reports to: Head Coach and Activities Director
About the Role
The Jefferson City School District is seeking a qualified Assistant Girls Golf Coach to support the Head Coach and Activities Director in serving the district’s 9,000 students across 11 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, 2 high schools, 1 alternative school, 1 preschool, and various alternative educational programs. The assistant coach will collaborate with the head coach and activities director to deliver high-level service to students while promoting academic excellence, skill development, sportsmanship, discipline, and self-esteem.
Responsibilities
- Teach and coach students to achieve the highest possible skill level in alignment with the district’s academic values.
- Plan and schedule regular in-season practices.
- Work closely with the head coach to enforce discipline, sportsmanlike behavior, and penalties for violations.
- Demonstrate effective human relations and communication skills.
- Assist the head coach in organizing and supervising the sports program.
- Ensure compliance with safety practices, district rules, regulations, and policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid Missouri teacher certificate.
- Employment as a teacher in the Jefferson City School District.
- Previous coaching experience in the assigned sport (preferred).
- Satisfactory background clearance required by the district.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
The role requires physical demands including some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, as well as fine finger dexterity. The assistant coach must be able to demonstrate performance in various physical conditions, including outdoor weather or surface-related settings, and assist with game plans or other head coach tasks.
Alternate qualifications may be considered as deemed appropriate by the board.
