Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics, a Division I and Big Ten Conference institution, is seeking an Assistant Coach for the Track and Field/Cross Country program.
About the role
The Assistant Coach reports to the Head Coach and supports all aspects of the Track and Field Middle Distance/Distance/Cross Country program.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, coach, develop, motivate, and evaluate academically and athletically qualified student-athletes in compliance with NCAA, Big Ten, and Penn State University policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with administrative processes related to team travel, recruiting travel, budget, student-athlete eligibility, and academic progress.
- Maintain alumni relations.
- Participate in fundraising and community service efforts as assigned.
- Coordinate with Communications staff to provide information to media outlets and prepare web-based and written materials.
Requirements
- One year of related experience.
- Division 1 coaching and/or playing experience preferred.
- Experience in Pole Vault, Operations, and recruiting is preferred.
- Commitment to comply with the mission statements of the University and Department, including Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics' vision to prepare students for a lifetime of impact.
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
