Assistant Coach, Softball

Responsibilities

• Aid in the instruction of student athletes in the sport of softball
• Assist in organizing, preparing, and conducting practices, training, and competition
• Recruit student-athletes in accordance with all NCAA Division III rules and regulations
• Aid in the holistic development of softball student-athletes
• Represent the program and CSS to students, parents, alumni, and the general public
• Aid in the management of the daily operations and administration facets of the softball program
• Aid in social media and work with the sports information office

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree is required/ Master’s degree preferred
• One or more years coaching experience at the high school and/or collegiate level; collegiate playing and/or managerial experience is preferred but not required
• Strong teaching background in the offensive hitting and outfield positioning aspect of the game
• Strong teaching and coaching skills
• Extremely detail oriented, great at administrative tasks
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
• Ability to communicate effectively with all types of people, and establish and maintain a strong working relationship with students, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and other college personnel
• The ability to work responsibly with minimal supervision
• Maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience with video editing software, Adobe Photoshop and social media platforms
• Commitment to the student-athlete experience, passion for the game, and ability to coach and motivate
