Assistant Coach, Softball
About the role
DAPER is seeking an exceptional Assistant Coach, Softball to support the overall success of the Stanford Softball program. The assistant coach plays an integral role in the success of the Softball program by supporting the holistic development of student-athletes and contributing to the day-to-day operations of the program.
Responsibilities
- Support a broad spectrum of player development activities, from skill instruction to set-up and tear-down tasks; on-field instruction; practice preparation; and other activities that enhance student-athlete performance.
- Cook and maintain the student-athlete fueling station.
- Coordinate and utilize technology, video, analytics, and performance support systems to assist with coaching, player development, and program operations.
- Experience or familiarity with Hudl, Trackman, SpinBall, FungoMan, game day capture and tagging, practice capture and tagging.
- Provide operational and administrative support for recruiting activities, including prospect management, communications, maintaining recruiting databases, campus visit coordination, and all recruiting logistics.
- Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of camps, clinics, and other program initiatives.
- Assist in the planning and execution of team, alumnae, donor, recruiting, and other special events that support the Stanford Softball program.
- Coordinate and support program operations, administrative projects, and other strategic initiatives as assigned by the Head Coach.
- Work collaboratively with coaches, Athletics staff, and campus partners to support the overall success of the Stanford Softball program.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize own work and multitask.
- Demonstrated excellent organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership of projects.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes, coaches, alumni, donors, recruits, and campus partners.
- A passion for student-athlete development and creating an outstanding program experience.

- Ability to direct the work of others, for jobs requiring supervision.

Benefits
The expected pay range for this position is $70,250- $72.500 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage the university reasonably expects to pay for a position upon hire. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and opportunity to and external market pay for comparable jobs.
