About the Role
Assist the Head Coach in the management of the men’s gymnastics team. Responsibilities include coaching, recruiting, and travel logistics.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the direction of workouts (40%)
- Create and execute training plans for 3 events
- Improvise in the gym
- Advise and manage routine construction
- Coach at Competitions (20%)
- Set lineups
- Equipment setup for home competitions
- Travel to all away competitions
- Know routines and be prepared for inquiries
- Recruit prospective student athletes (20%)
- Assess skill level and competitiveness of high school athletes
- Communicate clearly and professionally with prospective athletes
- Participate in on-campus recruiting trips
- Manage travel plans (10%)
- Book and coordinate flights, rental cars, hotels, etc.
- Drive rental vehicles when necessary
- Help coordinate meals
- Assist in administering team events (5%)
- Assist and participate in athlete development programs (5%)
- Freshmen Check-ins
- Captain Meetings

- Work is performed primarily in an office or campus setting, with occasional travel between buildings and to on- or off-campus meetings or events.
- Frequent sitting, talking, and hearing in meetings, classrooms, and office environments.
- Occasional walking, standing, bending, reaching, or lifting and carrying materials up to 25 pounds (such as files, books, and presentation equipment).
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer, telephone, and other standard office or instructional equipment.
- Visual acuity sufficient to read printed materials, digital screens, and documents.
- May involve extended periods of time at a computer workstation and participation in meetings conducted virtually or in person.
- May occasionally require attendance at evening or weekend events, such as student activities, faculty meetings, or institutional programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience coaching optional level or higher
- NCAA experience preferred
